Sri Mallkarjuna Swamy Temple was built in 1950 A.D in Keshavapatnam Mandal, Karimnagar Dst. by the people of Mutharam village. The history says long back in 1950 two persons one from mutharam village and one from Edapally village (near by mutharam) went to forest for wood to built stick built house. While returning on their way back to home its became late so, the persons decided to sleep in the forest for this night and start to go home early in the morning. In the mid night both persons got a dream that, Lord Mallkarjuna Swamy and Lord Sri Rama’s Idol’s are in the forest for many years without any Naivedyam and pooja’s. Early in the morning the both persons went to that place and brought the gods idols to their village. Sri Mallkarjuna Swamy’s idol was taken by the people of Mutharam and Sri Rama’s idol was taken by the people of Edapally.
